Yesterday I saw the avant premiere of the new film about Chanel: Coco avant Chanel. The film stars Aurdey Tautou, Marie Gillain and Benoît Poelvoorde. The director is Anne Fontaine. Karl Lagerfeld did the costumes.
The film starts when Gabrielle (Coco) and her sister Adrienne are sent to an orphanage. From there you see the evolution of Chanel, and how she really was. How she become famous and you see how she meets her real great love 'boy'.
I recomend this film to everybody! It's a nice interesting film even if you really aren't into fashion you lern something with it.
I also saw Audrey Tautou, Marie Gillain and Anne Fontaine and they looked fab.
Ok by now you should know I have an obsession with Chanel nail polish but what can I say? They are the best!
So the last I bought is a brown one called Imperial. First I had my doubts about this color. I didn't know with what I could wear a brow nail polish. But suddenly inspiration came. I could wear it to go walking in the mountains, for going to a party with my blue Helmut Lang dress, actually I could wear it with ANYTHING! It's a very easy color once you get the whole point about it. It's just a feeling you need to have with the color, it's difficult to explain, but I'm sure you know what I mean!I wonder how I could've lived without it! I only wore it once (because I just bought it and i needed to figure it put) and that was to go to Paris. That reminds me I need to post the things I bought there! I'll do that anytime soon don't you worry!
I was browsing on Modelinia and suddenly I bumbed into this little film about how to have hair like Gisele. It's full of insider tips and tricks. You'll get a lot out of it!
I have a few problems with uploading media so I'll just post the link.. I'm sorry guys!
I just came back from my shopping trip to Paris with my best friend. It was amazing! All the people were so friendly (maybe it was because we both were wearing our Chanel ballerinas...Probably). It was also very special because it was my first time in Paris with my best friend (with who I'm talking about fashion and Paris allllll the time( the only one in my neighborhood who understands that you CAN be excited about a pair of shoes..)) Tomorrow I'll post the things I bought, now I'm to tired sorry guys!
Here are a few pics:
Barbie exposition in Galleries Lafayette: the Chantal Thomass Barbie
The Martin Margiela Barbie (damn it Barbie that outfit belongs to me!)
The view from a bridge on the Seine
I don't have a lot of pics because I 'forgot' my camera (I didn't want to seem like a tourist in my hometown... you know what I mean right??)
I wanted to upload the clip of 'The Virgins': Rich Girl, but it didn't work so I just post the link.
The clip featured one of my favourite models: Behati Prinsloo, Coco Rocha's best friend (and yes Coco is one of my favs as well).
Behati is a South African supermodel and is the face of Victoria's Secret line 'Pink'. She is known for her super cute smile and because she dated fellow model Jamie Strachan . She is 1m78 and weighs 52kg. ( Measurements 32-25-34 (US)/81-64-87 (EU)). She was discovered in a shop in Namibia by the same scout who discovered Kate Moss.
This post is dedicated to my brother. He always has very dry hands, but he doesn't want to take my good advice.. Well I hope at least, I help one of you guys with the 'dry hand' problem!
First you have to find a good hand cream... duh?! The one I think it's the best is the Chanel one! It isn't greasy so you can use your hands right after you applied the cream.
You have to apply the cream once a hour (if you have really dry hands) or whenever you feel you NEEEEED hand cream (you know the feeling I mean right?)
If you go to sleep you might put a really thick layer hand cream and put some cotton gloves on (I know it's not really stylish nor sexy but see it as your secret single behavior, and who is going to find a man when you have dry hands?)
So when you stick to this program for about 2 weeks you'll have good moisturized soft hands!
Every month I'll post the shoe that I fell in love for in that month. Obviously it is more than one pair of shoes but I will not bother you guys with my shoe fetish
Maybe a little tough!
This month the price of 'Shoe of the month' goes to the Balmain studded sandal!
Aren't these shoes just to die for!! They have so much character but still elegant.
They are from the Spring/Summer '09 collection and are designed by Giuseppe Zanotti.
You can buy them at net-a-porter for €1,700.94
I tested a lot of tweezers: going from the ones of the Hema to the ones of Chanel but the ones from Tweezerman simply are the best. I use the, Allure award winning for the 8th year in a row, Slant Tweezer
It's positively the finest general use tweezer in the world - top eyebrow artists always recommend this one for expert brow shaping. The perfectly aligned, hand-filed tips are slanted to grab every hair, every time with the smoothest, true precision.
Tips & Tricks
To ease tweezing, take a hot shower or use a warm washcloth to open pores. Tweeze in the direction of hair growth to avoid breakage. To close pores post tweezing, use cold water.
The price for this unmissible tool is yours for 23€ and you got free sharpening.
I actually wanted to go to sleep but there is a 'nice' Greek party going on on the street... God damn it!
Your hands are your business card. If you don't have a decent hand care, nobody will want to hold your hands so nobody will want to know you, so you'll have no friends nor a carrier. Convinced? OK so here is how you take good care for your nails and hands:
Here is how you do the perfect manicure by yourself:
1. Remove any old nail polish. Make sure you didn't skip any parts of your nails! (note: glitter and dark varnish are hard to remove so be patient!)
2. Soak your hands in a basin with hot water and oil, ideally for as long as it takes for drink a cup of green tea.
3. Clip and file your nails in the desirable shape.
4. Push back your cuticles. They should be soft after soaking, but if not, use cuticle moisturiser.
5. Apply a base coat. This is the foundation of your manicure so don't skip it! Allow to dry, usually it takes the equivalent of a CD track.
6. Apply your polish, for dark colours you might use two coats, and tidy with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover to wipe away any stray blips or mistakes. Allow the polish to dry toughly. This might take three CD tracks or better: a CD to be sure...
7. Apply a top coat. Here you need at least an hour to let it dry. Don't try to use your recently manicure before that because you risk to mess up your handiwork! Maybe you can watch a nice film now.
8.Voila your manicure is done! Now let's show the world your beautiful hands! You'll see, the world is a much better place when you have the right manicure!
Here is what you need:
7. A top coat
8. If you want to do a transparent colour or just no nail polish, you might use a nail whitener
9. And of course the colour you wish to put on. Now you could use a beige colour which are very en vogue!
10. A nourishing hand cream
11. A nail polish remover
12. A cotton Bud
